Arruan-Haundi is a restored old farm, historic patrimony, which is located in the Valley of Lastur, a place surrounded by mountains, trees and meadowlands.

Just 9 kilometres from the sea and in the geographical centre of the country. In 1999, the farm was considered Centre for Rural Reception within the framework of the European Program Atlantis. Therefore, we have diversified our activities and lodge-possibilities.

The main activity is the ecological cattle raising and agriculture.
We have no more cows but pottoka (basque horses), that keep the mountain clean as well as play with every one who is visiting us, and even they are learning how to carry children on their rump... we work on it! Furia and Euri are both already breaked horses and are ready to go for a walk.

In the season, we make cheese with sheep-milk, an in summer, as usual, we make bread, butter, cow-cheese, jam, etc. And we have also eggs, cider, txakoli (basque white wine) and very good Rioja wine.

Visitors of our valley can be lodged in the farm, and can choose between a summer house (for 6 people), another little housing (max. 8 people), or to camp in the meadow around the farm. Likewise, to “slow” travellers riding horses, by bike or just walking, we propose “sleep on straw”, where you can have a rest in the barn as well as the horses, take a shower and recover your strength eating home-made cheese, bread and wine, to continue your way when you are well again.

In the reception centre, you find some information about other interesting places in the country as well as where to eat very good and cheap.

We do our best to make you feel like comming back.

WE SHOULD TAKE THE TIME TO LIFE!
